Adhola Simbwori FC

History of Adhola Simbwori Football Club

Adhola Simbwori Football Club is a community-based team rooted in the heart of Tororo District, Eastern Uganda. The club officially began its journey on 15th September 2023, born from a shared vision to use football not only as a sport but also as a means to transform lives and promote discipline among young people.

It all started humbly — with just five determined pioneers: Kelvin Moses Wekesa, Munialo Peter, Adhola Eric Mich, Otimong Abraham, and Shadat Muhammed. Under the guidance of their steward and tactician Coach Abdallah Kabwaago (Abu), the young men held their first training session on 23rd September 2023. That day was marked by a heavy downpour, yet the players trained through the rain — an act that came to define the spirit of Adhola Simbwori FC: commitment, resilience, and teamwork even under the harshest conditions.

The club’s early development was slow but deliberate. Recruitment was based strictly on discipline, effort, and dedication, not popularity. In those formative months, Adhola Simbwori had no fan base, no proper training kits, and limited resources. The players themselves were their only supporters. But perseverance paid off. With time, the team’s passionate style of play began attracting attention, and fans started showing up voluntarily to cheer them on.

Beyond sport, the club soon became a mentorship space for local youth, emphasizing life lessons alongside football training. Many parents in the community now credit the team for guiding their children away from harmful behaviours and instilling positive values. Adhola Simbwori FC quickly grew into a symbol of community discipline, hard work, and opportunity.

The journey into competitive football began on 17th May 2024 at King George Stadium, Tororo, when Adhola Simbwori FC played its first official league match — an away fixture in the Tororo District 5th Division League. The team triumphed in that debut match, earning three points that marked the start of a prosperous run in competitive football. That victory laid the foundation for a remarkable campaign that would see the club go on to win the league title later that year.

In June 2024, Adhola Simbwori FC were crowned champions of the Tororo District 5th Division Football League, finishing with 18 points and earning promotion to the 4th Division under the Tororo District Football Association (TDFA). Striker Kevin Wekesa led the league with seven goals, while captain Owen Isabirye inspired the team on and off the pitch with unwavering leadership.

Following their triumph, the club relocated its home ground to UCC and acquired new training equipment, marking another step forward in professionalism and preparation. Under the leadership of Executive Director Abdallah Kabwaago, Head Coach Edward Wafula, and Assistant Coach Frank Kulata, Adhola Simbwori FC continues to grow both competitively and socially.

Today, Adhola Simbwori Football Club stands as a shining example of what determination, discipline, and teamwork can achieve. From five young men training in the rain without kits to lifting a championship trophy less than a year later, the club’s story is one of vision and perseverance. The mission continues — to rise higher through Uganda’s football ranks while shaping a new generation of responsible, inspired, and empowered youth.
